No, it is not recommended to clean your coins. Cleaning can severely and permanently damage a coin’s surface, and cleaned coins are usually valued much lower than those with their original finish. Over time, coins may develop a natural oxidation layer known as patina or toning. Many collectors prefer coins with this original toning, making them more desirable.
Bullion coins derive their value purely from the amount of gold or silver they contain. On the other hand, numismatic coins, which may also contain gold or silver, have a "double advantage" — their value is based not only on the precious metal content but also on their rarity and demand within the collectors' market. Unlike bullion coins, numismatic coins are less affected by daily fluctuations in precious metals prices.
